The human
occupation starts as of prehistory, the area being a country of
very old settlement. Potteries found in the cave of BAUME-granas
(with glazing bar) and the presence of dolmens on the plates
limestones which border Ardeche attest it. But it is difficult
to say when the man was installed on the current spot of the
village. Excavations and discoveries make it possible however to
know that with the 3° century before J.c. existed a Gallic
village, and that a Gallo-Roman village and its cemetery auprès
whose passed a Roman way remained until the 4° or 5° century

and HOLY MATHIEU). One can see in the enclosure the remainders
of the cloister. This site became a cemetery where as of the
Early middle ages one buried the Christians.
In this old borough where Ruomsois lived exclusively until there
